11th U.S. store for De Beers

De Beers opened its 11th U.S. location in December with the launch of its store at the Bal Harbour Shops in Bal Harbour, Fla. The 700-square-foot boutique will feature new collections by De Beers Creative Director Raphaele Canot, including “Talisman,” “Ice on Fire” and “Radiance.” The store also will include high-end jewelry and bridal.
Wyler Genève presents the official watch of the Dakar

Luxury watchmaker Wyler Genève, the official timekeeper for the 2009 Dakar, today unveiled in October the official watch of the rally: a limited-edition chronograph made of the rare metal tantalum. Slated to appear in stores in time for the run-up to the Dakar, which starts in Buenos Aires on 3rd January 2009, the production run for this watch is limited to 182, which was the number of competitors in the first-ever Dakar rally 30 years ago.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Vacheron Constantin had the honour and privilege, at the request of the Vatican, to organise an exceptional concert of classical music attended by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. Over 7,000 guests, including personalities of world renown, were present in the Paul VI Audience Hall for the concert and the award ceremony to honour Cornelio Sommaruga, Swiss humanitarian, diplomat and President of the International Committee of the Red Cross from 1987 to 1999.
